The teams line up

The Flybe 'Be a Professional Footballer for a Day' event took place on Wednesday past and was a fabulous success. The competition in conjunction with the Inverness Courier gave amateur teams in the local area an opportunity to receive training from Caley Thistle's first team coaching staff including manager Craig Brewster followed by a game against a Caley Thistle veteran/Inverness Courier select. CSK Highfield, a 2nd Division amateur side, were the lucky team to be selected by the judging panel and experienced life for a day in the fast lane of an SPL football club. "We had a great training session and I was really surprised and impressed by the set up at Caley Thistle" commented CSK Highfield player manager Robert Baldie.

The idea was given to the club by their main sponsor Flybe, Ian Taylor General Manager market development commented "Meeting CSK Highfield after the training was a real pleasure and after Craig Brewster and the coaching team had put them through their paces and picking up a few hints, I hope the team can have a successful and enjoyable season after such a memorable day"

Iain Polworth heads in number 4

Following training and the pre-match meal CSK faced an ICT legends team made up of a number of well known Caley Thistle stars including Mike Noble, Jim Calder & Charlie Christie. CSK's hard work on the training field certainly paid off as they held their more illustrious opponents to a 0-0 draw at the interval, but two goals apiece from David Hind and current Clach manager Iain Polworth ensured the select team enjoyed a 4-1 victory with Paul Hurry scoring Highfield'd consolation.
