BE A PRO FOOTBALLER FOR THE DAY
Where does your footie team play its fixtures - the park, the local sports ground, the car park at the back of the pub? If you've always dreamed of the big time, then it's about to become a reality.
Flybe are to give one local amateur team a chance for their dream to come true and to play a match to remember at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium!
If your team gets selected you could be playing a game at Caley Thistle's ground in Inverness in front of a home crowd of your mates and family. To prepare you for the challenge your team will receive professional advice and training from the ICT coaching staff.
The winning team may not be the best around, in fact they could be one of the worst! What we're looking for is a team that will benefit most from Caley Thistle professional coaching, a team that will rise to the occasion and give your opponents a run for their money!
Ian Taylor, General Manager Market Development of Flybe says, "Being the sponsors of Inverness Caledonian Thistle for Flybe is about giving the community unique and 'once in a lifetime' opportunities that wouldn't normally be within reach. After the successful Flybe Community Footie Festival that we sponsored and held at the Club in March, we thought that a competition for adult football teams was only fair. The club was very keen to help us make the idea become reality and we are now about to give one set of local footballers a day to remember."
The Fixture - Wednesday 17th September, Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, Inverness
Your Opponents - The Inverness Courier/Caley Thistle Veterans Select including Charlie Christie, Jim Calder, Danny MacDonald, Alan Hercher and other Caley Jags stars of yesteryear, including some football talent from your leading local newspaper!
The Trophy - Flybe will award the winning team with a Caley Thistle shirt with their name on the back.
Malky Thomson, Assistant Coach, ICTFC says, "The 'Be a Pro-Footballer for the Day' competition is a fantastic opportunity for an amateur team to learn about the workings of a professional outfit. It will be a rare insight into how the team trains in the run up to a game with warm-up, coaching & tactics, the processes and prep required pre-match, and even a team talk with the gaffer!"
Want to enter your team? Entry forms are printed in the Inverness Courier EVERY Tuesday and Friday from now until 29th August
