FLYBE COMMUNITY FOOTIE FESTIVAL 2008

Avoch Primary School meet the Manager and Players
The Flybe Community Footie Festival in association with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and the Inverness Courier is a one day event which was held on Wednesday 19th March 2008 and was a six aside football festival promoting a healthy lifestyle for children through football.

A great shot on goal
16 schools were present and the children learnt footie skills from the ICT Community Coaching staff throughout the day. In the afternoon they got to meet Manager Craig Brewster and Caley Thistle players Grant Munro, Roy McBain, Russell Duncan, Michael Fraser, Don Cowie, Marius Niculae, Ian Black and Dougie Imrie at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium!

Good close control
The event was held in good spirit and weather and the children were delighted to get their heros autographs. Avoch Primary and Rosebank Primary from Nairn each won £500 for their school for showing good sportmanship and superb goal celebrations. Well done to both schools!

A budding Michael Fraser shouts out the orders
Manager Craig Brewster commented "Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC are delighted to be involved in this new exciting initiative. The children in the local community are very important to us as football festivals are an excellent way of promoting healthy living as well as social interaction. The fact that our main club sponsor, Flybe has the same community values as ourselves makes the whole event a winning formula."
