RESERVE RESULT

Matty Hemsley who performed well at right back
The Reserves entertained Kilmarnock at home today and an inexperienced side suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against a Killie side that contained numerous first team players.
We came close to opening the scoring in the 13th minute when a Barry Wilson corner was cleared to the edge of the box where Dale Gillespie teed up Zander Sutherland for a shot. His side footed effort was parried by Kilmarnock goalkeeper Damien Rascle but the rebound fell to quickly to Shane Sutherland and he could only deflect the ball back into the goalkeeper's arms.
Eleven minutes later and again Shane Sutherland came close to making his mark when another dangerous corner, from Barry Wilson into the near post allowed him to get a delicate flick onto the ball which went inches wide of the far post.
On the 33rd minute Kilmarnock took the lead slightly against the run of play when a long ball over the top allowed Donovan Simmonds raced clear to slot the ball past an exposed Ryan Esson from 15 yards.
Daniel Park replaced his Under 19 strike partner Shane Sutherland with 67 minutes played and two minutes later Dale Gillespie was unfortunate to see a well hit drive go over the bar from 25 yards.
On the 72nd minute Ryan Esson prevented Kilmarnock extending their lead when he superbly tipped an Alan Johnston shot from 22 yards over the bar.
