The reserves took on Hamilton Academical today at the Stadium in an SPL reserve league match but went down 3-0.  Manager Craig Brewster made an appearance at centre half and there was also a place in the starting line up for Saturday's match winner Dougie Imrie.

We found ourselves 1-0 down in the opening minutes when defensive uncertainty gave Hamilton striker Stephen Ettien the opportunity to tuck away a shot from the edge of the box.

We almost had an equaliser on the 10th minute when a Craig Brewster shot at the edge of the box was deflected into the net by Barry Wilson but the assistant referee ruled it out for offside.

Seven minutes later Hamilton extended their lead when a cross into the box by Stephen Ettien was bundled over the line by ex-St Mirren striker Mark Corcoran.  Shortly before the break a good diagonal ball by Dale Gillespie to Rory McAllister brought out a good first touch by the striker but his low shot was smothered by Sean Murdoch in the Hamilton goal.

It was all one way traffic towards the Hamilton goal in the second half but a combination of missed chances and good goalkeeping meant we could not get ourselves on the score sheet.  Ten minutes into the second half Andy Barrowman came close with a dipping volley which landed on the roof of the net after the ball was played into his path by Rory McAllister.

Sean Murdoch produced a good save from a low drive from 20 yards by Dougie Imrie pushing the ball behind for a corner kick which came to nothing.  Three minutes later Imrie was again denied a goal when he poked the ball beyond the post when 1v1 with Murdoch.

Within 30 seconds Hamilton raced to the other end to make it 3-0 and the end the game as a contest, a cross from wide right midfielder Sebastian Sorsa found it's way to the back and the unmarked Michael Videira smashed the ball into the net.
