Liam Polworth - Netted in the 46th minute

Under 17 players Liam Polworth (15) and Kyle Whyte (15) last night both featured in the International Challenge match against Malta, defeating them 2-0 with the second goal coming from midfielder Liam.  This was the first time Scotland had played Malta at this age group and despite their opponents starting the stronger of the two sides the Scottish boys soon settled down and were well worth their victory.

Scotland opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when Hearts centre half Scott Campbell reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box to drive home.

Six minutes into the second half and Scotland's pressure on the Maltese goal brought number two with a goal made in Inverness.  Striker Kyle Whyte making his Scotland debut produced a good bit of skill to create an opening for Liam Polworth and he fired the ball into the top corner - his first goal in Scotland colours.
