We travelled to face Partick Thistle today In a re-arranged league fixture and Manager Terry Butcher selected the same starting eleven that lost 3-2 in last Sunday's Alba Challenge Cup Final against Dundee.  The only change came on the bench with Dougie Imrie suspended after his straight red card in the final and that meant Robert Eagle took his place.

With only six minutes gone we took the lead, a free kick from David Proctor on right ended up in the net with right back Ross Tokely looking like he got the final touch to put it into the bottom corner.

Twelve minutes later and we created another opening when a cross from Jonny Hayes on the right picked out a well placed Dani Sanchez but he managed to push his shot wide.

Within minutes Ryan Esson proved his worth again and preserved our lead with a great save when he tipped a Marc Corcoran header from six yards round the post after a Stevie Lovell head flick on.  With 36 minutes played the dangerous Jonny Hayes almost notched number two but his fierce shot from 25 yards rattled back off the cross bar.

Eight minutes into the second half and the home side had equalised, Ian Maxwell's cross from left goes right across the box and right back Jamie Adams heads into the net unmarked from eight yards.

Partick Thistle goalkeeper John Tuffey stopped us from going ahead again when he reacted well to save a deflected Richie Foran effort as we put the home side's goal under a period of pressure. However just before the 70th minute mark Partick Thistle took the lead, a Paul Cairney lay off allowed Stevie Lovell to race through on goal and with only Ryan Esson to beat he made no mistake to make it 2-1.
