We welcomed Airdrie United to the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium today looking to get back to winning ways after last Saturday's derby defeat.  Despite the 2-1 defeat to Ross County Manager Terry Butcher elected to start with the same team, with the bench also remaining the same.

Early on we threatened the Airdrie United goal when Richie Foran powered in a header from a Dougie Imrie cross but his effort was straight at goalkeeper Stephen Robertson.

With 24 minutes played Stephen Robertson again had to look lively to deny us the opener, a Dani Sanchez corner was cleared to the edge of the box which Richie Foran laid back to Nauris Bulvitis and his snap shot was pushed away by the Airdrie goalkeeper.

Finally on the stroke of half-time we took the lead, Dougie Imrie drove forward at the heart of the Airdrie defence and then released Dani Sanchez on the left and despite being tight to the touchline his shot deflected off the legs of Stephen Robertson and into the net.

We made a substitution on the 54th minute with Jonny Hayes replacing Dougie Imrie on the right.  Shortly afterwards we spurned a great chance to make it number two, a Richie Foran pass released Adam Rooney in behind the Airdrie defence but with time and space to move towards goal he elected to shot first time and blazed the ball over the bar.

Eric Odhiambo replaced goalscorer Dani Sanchez thirteen minutes later.  A Jonny Hayes cross on 68 minutes presented Richie Foran with an excellent opportunity but somehow from three yards he headed wide.

Within a minute however we had number two and what a strike it was, Eric Odhiambo who had only been on the park two minutes latched onto a loose ball at the edge of the box and smashed home a left foot volley in off the far post which gave Robertson no chance in the Airdrie goal.

Lee Cox came on for Richie Foran right on the 90th minute.
