 Match Report

After last week's 4-1 home win over Greenock Morton Manager Terry Butcher kept the same starting eleven for the visit to near neighbours Ross County.  Onto the bench came Eric Odhiambo, his first involvement since breaking a metatarsal in pre-season.

With 18 minutes played Ross County took the lead when a Scott Morrison free kick came crashing back off the cross bar with only defender Scott Boyd reacting to head home.  Within two minutes County had number two, a cross came in from left back Scott Morrison and Michael Gardyne was well placed to head home from close range.

Midfielder Russell Duncan picked up a yellow card from referee David Somers just before the break.

At the half-time interval Terry Butcher replaced Dani Sanchez with Jonny Hayes as we looked to get ourselves back in the game.

With eight minutes left to play we pulled a goal back, Jonny Hayes was upended by a tackle in the box and David Somers pointed to the spot.  Last week's hat-trick hero Adam Rooney stepped up only to see his kick saved by Michael McGovern but he was alive to the rebound and fired home.

Full-time score: Ross County 2 (Boyd 18 mins, Gardyne 20 mins) - ICT 1 (Rooney 82 mins)
