Manager Terry Butcher was forced into making one change from the starting side that defeated Raith Rovers on Tuesday for the visit of Dunfermline Athletic today. Russell Duncan missed out with a back strain and Daniel Stratford took his place, with Roy McBain coming onto the bench. Ex-ICT striker Graham Bayne skippered the Pars side as we went in search of our first home league win of the season.
On 7 minutes a fine save from Ryan Esson prevented Dunfermline from taking the lead. Graham Bayne swept a pass in behind Nauris Bulvitis and Nick Phinn's header looked to be sneaking under the bar until Ryan showed his agility to tip the ball over the bar.
Nine minutes later we created our first opening, a Jonny Hayes cross into the box found David Proctor, he turned quickly and fired in a volley which goalkeeper Greg Fleming pushed away and with Richie Foran set to pounce on the rebound, defender Calum Woods did great to clear the ball.
With half an hour played Dunfermline came close, a Willie Gibson corner kick was headed back across goal by defender Neil McGregor which was then deflected behind for a corner kick before a finishing touch could be added.
Right on the half-time whistle we opened the scoring, a Jonny Hayes cross was headed back across goal by Richie Foran and David Proctor was on hand to volley home for his second goal in two games.
Half-time score: ICT 1 (Proctor 45 mins) - Dunfermline Athletic 0
On the hour mark Ross Tokely was given a yellow card by referee Alan Muir for a late challenge on Dunfermline left back Calum Woods. Three minutes later and we made our first substitution replacing Richie Foran with Adam Rooney.
With 67 minutes played Dougie Imrie picked up an unjust yellow card when Alan Muir had adjudged that he had kicked the ball away. Two minutes later and Dunfermline had equalised, Willie Gibson played a short corner to Joe Cardle and his whipped cross was guided home by the head of substitute Andy Kirk.
Danni Sanchez entered the field on the 70th minute replacing Dougie Imrie and seven minutes later Roy McBain came on for the injured Jonny Hayes.
Adam Rooney was played through behind the Dunfermline defence but his low left footed shot was blocked by the leg of Greg Fleming. Just before the end David Proctor almost snatched the winner but his volley was tipped onto the crossbar by Fleming.
