We welcomed Stranraer to the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium this evening for the 2nd round of the Alba Challenge Cup and after Saturday's draw with Ayr United Manager Terry Butcher made two changes to the starting line up.  Full backs David Proctor and Lionel Djebi-Zadi dropped out and in came Ross Tokely and 18 year old Graeme Shinnie.

On 12 minutes we took the lead when a Lee Cox through ball released Richie Foran and he showed good composure to drill the ball past Stranraer goalkeeper David Mitchell.

With 26 minutes played Richie Foran again drifted in behind the Stranraer defence to latch onto Grant Munro's free kick but his low drive fizzed past the far post.  Shortly afterwards Danni Sanchez was unlucky not to score number two when his effort struck the post and then was cleared behind for a corner kick.

Two minutes later and Sanchez had scored with a side footed effort after a driving run across goal from Jonny Hayes.  It was one way traffic and two minutes after the half hour Richie Foran had netted a double when he was set up by Robert Eagle in the six yard box.

 Ten minutes into the second period and Stranraer had a sight on goal but Ryan Esson produced a good point blank stop from substitute Stuart McColm.  Three minutes later and at the other end David Mitchell pushed away a Danni Sanchez effort on the goal line.  Then within seconds Nauris Bulvitis somehow missed a header in front of goal after some great work by Danni Sanchez down the left.

Adam Rooney replaced two goal hero Richie Foran on the 61st minute.  Youngster Nick Ross came on in the 68th minute with Jonny Hayes coming off.   Thirteen minutes before the end and Danni Sanchez hit the post from close range after some nifty footwork and cross from Ross Tokely on the right.

Roy McBain came off the bench in 79 minutes replacing Danni Sanchez.  Three minutes before the end and Adam Rooney was unlucky not to open his account for the evening when his shot on the turn looked net bound until David Mitchell pushed the ball behind for a corner kick.
