DISABILITY POLICY

Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club (ICTFC) is committed to ensuring that its disabled supporters and customers have as full access as is reasonably possible to all goods, services and facilities provided or offered to the public by the club.

Stadium

At Tulloch Caledonian Stadium the facilities provided for the disabled are as follows:
26 places for wheelchair users and their carers in North Stand (Home Support)
6 places for wheelchair users and their carers in West Stand (Home support)
26 places for wheelchair users and their carers in South Stand (Away support)
Places for ambulant disabled and their carers in the North (Home support) and South (Away support)
Dedicated Main, North and South Stand car parking, which is free of charge

Accessibility to Stadium

There are user-friendly means of accessing the stadium, both externally and internally. The car parking facilities are situated in very close proximity to the various points of entry to the stadium.

Admission to the Stadium

The club policy is based on areas of the stadium that disabled supporters can use as opposed to their individual impairments. It applies to both home and visiting supporters provided they purchase tickets in advance of any particular match.

The following shall apply: -
For disabled supporters who need to use a wheelchair within the stadium admission will be free of charge. Similarly the Personal Assistant (PA) of a wheelchair disabled supporter the PA will also be admitted free of charge.

Blind and visibly impaired supporters who can only use the sections identified for them in the North (Home) and South (Away) Stands will be admitted free of charge. Again, the PA of the disabled supporter the PA will also be admitted free of charge.


Any ambulant disabled supporter who requires the aid of a PA in order to view the event in comfort and safety will be seated in the North or West (Home) or South (Away) Stands. Both supporter and PA will be admitted free of charge.

Any other supporter with a disability who can access any area of the stadium without the need of a PA will be charged the full rate for his/her seat.

Carers

Under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 ICTFC has a duty of care for all spectators and other users of the stadium. That duty of care has been assessed taking into account the obligations of a carer for the disabled person whilst at the stadium.
In light of those obligations and particularly relating to emergency and evacuation situations, it is a requirement that that a carer accompanying a disabled supporter be an able bodied adult i.e. over 18 years of age. Any disabled supporter requiring a carer who attends but who is not accompanied by an able bodied adult carer, will be refused admission.

Customer Care

The following policies and procedures will apply: -

The club, its employees and stewards shall not discriminate between able bodied and disabled persons or between people with differing impairments.

Our administrative staff, other "front of house" personnel and stewards shall be instructed to observe the provisions of the DDA, or any other relevant legislation.

Our administrative staff, other "front of house" personnel and stewards are required to treat disabled supporters and customers with all due patience, politeness, courtesy and practical assistance at all times.

We guarantee that it shall deal promptly with any grievances relating to the provisions of the DDA.

Our administrative staff, other "front of house" personnel and stewards shall be advised of the fact that any incidents of discrimination under the provisions of the DDA are serious matters, which could lead to appropriate disciplinary action being initiated.
